‘I want to be able to play on the floor with my grandkids’
"I want to pick up my cup of coffee without pain’‘
"I want to be able to do a triathlon"
“I fell off a ladder and broke my collarbone and six ribs. Wendy’s treatments had me pain-free in only three months after the accident. Also, I am regaining my range of motion, with almost no difference from before the accident. I unequivocally recommend Rue and Primavera for all your physical therapy needs.”
“I came in following a fractured elbow and wrist. I had developed CRPS in my right hand and was unable to turn my hand palm up. I wasn’t sure I would ever regain use of my right arm. I can now turn my arm properly and regained most of the movement in my right hand. I never would have come this far without my providers excellent care. The entire staff has become friends and I will miss coming!”
"Fantastic experience! Wendy is so professional yet very personable. She truly listens to your concerns and addresses your needs. When I came to Wendy, after my car accident, I was just out of my wheelchair and began using a walker, progressed to a cane and then began walking independently. She gave me exercises to do at home as well. I have regained my strength and once again feel comfortable walking."
"My experience at Rue and Primavera with my therapist was excellent. Before my hand surgery, I could not pick up anything and the pain from the carpal tunnel was terrible. Thanks to the OT's, I can do all my normal activities and my favorite crafts. They started out with small movements and massaging to lifting weights and great dexterity with all of my fingers. All were very patient and great to work with."
You can often schedule an appointment directly with a physical therapist. However, some insurance plans may require a referral, so it's a good idea to check with your insurance provider. Washington state requires all occupational therapy patients to have a referral.
Physical therapy can help with a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, neurological disorders, chronic pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, and more.
Treatment sessions in our clinic last 45-minutes for OT and PT. Pelvic Floor Therapy sessions are booked for 1-hour.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows your therapist to easily access and assess the area being treated. Athletic wear and sneakers are often a good choice.
Therapy is generally not intended to be painful. Some discomfort may occur during certain exercises or treatments, but your therapist will work with you to manage pain and discomfort while still achieving your treatment goals.
You and your therapist will regularly assess your progress. You should experience improvements in pain reduction, mobility, and functionality over time. If you have concerns about your progress, discuss them with your therapist.
Home exercises are often an essential part of your treatment plan. Your therapist will provide you with a home exercise program to complement your in-clinic sessions. Consistency with these exercises is crucial for optimal results.
Many insurance plans cover physical therapy, but coverage can vary. It's important to check with your insurance provider to understand your benefits and any out-of-pocket costs.
After dedicating more than two decades to the community, Thomas Primavera and his wife Wendolyn Rue have declared their retirement. The County recently acquired our building in Oak Harbor, prompting us to receive a brief notice to evacuate the premises. Considering Thomas and Wendy's decision to retire, relocating the clinic to a new facility and entering into a new lease didn't feel appropriate, leading us to make the difficult decision to close our doors.
The choice to close has been accompanied by deep contemplation, acknowledging the impact it will have on our patients and the community.
If you are currently undergoing therapy or treatments, please be assured that we are dedicated to facilitating a seamless transition for you. Feel free to contact your provider, who will assist you in transitioning to an alternative clinic that meets your needs.
If you are a current or previous patient looking for your medical record, please click the “patient forms” tab a the top of the page and fill out the “patient request for medical records”. We will email you an encrypted, secure copy of your records for your reference.
Wishing you health & happiness
